1639 and 1643 Ellis Hollow are our first Ellis Hollow apartments, built in 2002-2003 on a lovely three acre lot with mature trees, using the design that would become our gold standard. I think of these two as the garden apartments as they have the most spectacular gardens of any of our places.


One long term tenant at 1643, a fellow photographer, sent the aerial view we have included below. Rather a neat perspective!  His also is the lovely shot of their entry garden, the one garden for which I cannot claim full credit. His wife is a plant professional at Cornell, and she has me beat hands down for wonderful plants.

These places have it all: a smart floor plan, a kitchen designed for people who like to cook (efficient layout, lots of storage, lots of counterspace, a gas stove and a dishwasher) 2 big bedrooms with lots of closet space, a bath and a half (with whirlpool!) an office, an efficient gas fireplace that heats the whole place nicely, a “harry potter closet” under the stairs, a front porch and really nice lawns and gardens, as well as an on-site laundry in a central, shared utility space. All rooms are equipped with high-speed internet connections.

Utilities are not included in rent, and have been running $50 to 85/month for electric and averaging about $116 for propane/month.

These two places are slightly less than 5 miles and only 8 minutes to the Veterinary College at Cornell University.
